I’m honestly a homebody, I really don’t get out very much other than for work or to roam around Target…also the beach anytime I can convince someone to go with me.
So while I don’t mind having to be stuck inside, I also miss seeing the sunshine and having a backyard. And since it has basically been a month since everything began full force, I’ve had a good bit of time on my hands.
I’ve seen a lot of inspirational quotes about ways to use this time to better ourselves, and honestly took it to heart. My biggest complaint is time… never feeling like I have enough or feeling so stressed out I end up wasting time, because of things I’m focused on.
I spent the first week of quarantine stressed out and unable to move due to the news and super scared of every what if and the insane conspiracy theories that I could go my whole life not ever reading about. I’d supplement this with watching hours of Netflix and then go to bed aggravated because I was terrified and wasn’t accomplishing anything….only for my day to rinse and repeat.
By the second week, I had had enough and starting trying to figure out exactly what things I’ve always wanted to do, but never followed through on. I have a running list of what my ideal life is and strive for the day it resembles that. And now several of those things are doable. I’m getting to spend time with my husband, something I haven’t really been able to do for the last couple of years. I’ve also started developing a healthier lifestyle; which has needed to happen I hardly eat and live off of sugar…not smart. And that has basically been where my focus has been.
And from doing those things I’m feeling a lot better, honestly the best I have in a long time, I can think straight, my anxiety is becoming manageable, and my day feels more productive. So I wanted to share some of the things I’ve been doing in case you find yourself needing ways to keep occupied during all of this.

Exercise🏋️♀️: I’m so proud of myself for this and I feel so much better! I figured out what my goals were and I picked what worked for me. There are so many options on YouTube and Pinterest, that it’s pretty easy to gather something that can be personalized and works for you.
Yoga🧘♀️: I picked a few poses I like and that make me feel good – now I go through a tiny routine when I get up. I’ve had a harder time sticking with this one (not a morning person) but it makes difference in my day when I do – I feel a lot more relaxed.
Pinterest has lots of walk throughs as well as YouTube. I linked one of my favorites above. But I know some gyms are offering classes online during quarantine, so if you use those it’s a great way to show community support!

Hot Tea☕: I have ended each day with a nice warm cup of tea, and it’s literally the best thing ever. And a great way to kind of wind down for the evening. Since I haven’t seen the sun in almost a month, and my body is beginning to not understand the difference and wants to party all night.

Journaling📓: I’ve never been a fan, I don’t like it and struggle to put words to paper about how I feel or how my day went. Guided journals have been a big help and I truly enjoy them. I’ve begun to gain a better understanding of myself and start sorting out things I’ve had a hard time doing in the past. There are also free templates you can find on Pinterest, and then all you need is a pen and paper.

Music🎶: It has helped make days so much brighter and feel happier. I prefer instrumentals and honestly jazz is my favorite. Just search for happy jazz music or Spring jazz music. Spotify also has lots of lists and honestly spa music is another favorite if you need to calm your nerves.
Bible Study📖: There is literally so much hope and happiness that can be found throughout the Bible. My favorite Bible study app is the first 5 app, there is a community group for prayer requests and also a way to discuss that weeks topic. I left a link to their website above!
For this week Glenn and I have really enjoyed following through Holy week and all of the big events that lead up to Easter. That’s been so fulfilling. Easter is my favorite holiday and not getting to see family has been a real bummer for me. I haven’t seen my grandparents in over a month, and while I’m super thankful for phone calls I miss shopping trips and getting to visit in person.
Arts/Crafts🎨: It’s a pretty productive pastime. I got sucked into dollar tree crafts, a while back. It’s so much fun to create dollar store look a likes for some of the pricier home decor items out there. Here’s a link to one of my favorite YouTubers that posts her creations.
But I’ve also went through my clothes and revamped some of my older shorts that I haven’t worn in forever. My next project is tie dying old t-shirts, and trying to revamp older clothes with some of the clothing hacks I always end up saving but never try.
Painting is also always fun, and learning how to do calligraphy as well, just to help with ideas😊

Making lists✔: Honestly getting to scratch off something as simple as filling up the dishwasher or washing a load of clothes, can be a saving grace to keeping motivated and feeling like things are still getting accomplished.
Learning Something New👩🏫: For me that has been trying to learn a new language. Dualingo is a great free app for that! I have linked it above. I’m also trying to learn how to play my ukulele again for probably the millionth time. But other ideas are learning to draw, crochet, macrame, cross stitching, sewing, even gardening, or wood working. You may find a new hobby you love 💕

Self Care💅: I have been using hair masks and face masks galore. This will probably be the first year I’m actually summer ready. But I feel so much better, from taking the time to slap a mask on a read a book or a movie. All of the skin care products have even been helping my nails grow #bonusperks I usually just use the drugstore masks, but I’m beginning to run out, so I’m excited to look into homemade recipes!
I could honestly list a million positive things you can do while stuck inside to help, but I’ll it at 10 and ones that I’ve actually done.
What are some of the positive things you’re doing during quarantine?
I’ll leave a link to my Pinterest Page if you need any extra ideas 😊https://www.pinterest.com/cheerfullybliss/boards/
Thanks so much for reading, wishing you nothing less than good health and happiness 💕
